Leanne Roadcap

Co-owner

My name is Leanne & I am the proud co-owner of Building Kidz of Queensbury.

My educational background and work experience are diverse. I dual majored in Addiction Studies & Health Science in college. After graduating, I worked as an Addictions Counselor. From there I spent fifteen years working in sales and retail management. I eventually began working with children as I longed to get back to my roots of serving others. I spent several years at Head Start working as a Health & Nutrition Coordinator. I am passionate about health & nutrition. I am also a certified yoga instructor, teaching at a local studio, volunteering at our community senior citizen center as well as having my own yoga/mindfulness business. I believe in service to others and have a strong desire to help make our world a better place through the practice of kindness and gratitude.

It is a privilege to work with children. What I love most is how they view the world around them. They show you through their actions how imaginative, exciting and magical the world can be. They remind you to smile, to be present, to have fun, to celebrate the little things, to play, to explore, to dream, to be creative, that accidents happen and naps are definitely needed! No day is ever the same and as a result, you never stop learning from them. You are a part of their growth and that is rewarding and fulfilling beyond measure.

Co-owner

I’m Harvey Roadcap, co-owner of Building Kidz of Queensbury.  I am passionate about our emphasis on performing arts, music, dance and theatre in our curriculum.  At the age of 10, I began my journey in music by beginning to learn the trumpet.  This experience helped me develop and grow in ways I never could imagine.  Learning music gave me confidence, improved my focus, and increased my capacity to learn math and other school subjects.  I am certain that without the influence of music in my early childhood, I never would have become the adult I am today.

My goal for Building Kidz of Queensbury is to provide children the opportunity to discover the joy of music, art, dance and theatre.  Exposure to these experiences builds character, improves social skills and will help your child develop emotionally and creatively.

Music is unfortunately not my profession, but I still love to play instruments and record music in my spare time.  I have a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, and have worked in sales management in the dental profession over the last 20 years.  My career has been fulfilling most times, however not nearly as satisfying as being a part of something that will enrich the lives of our community’s children.
