My name is Komal Rajput and I am the Director of Building Kidz San Carlos!
I bring 12+ years of experience in child development of which I spent the last few years on establishing and leading my own childcare. Before that, I got the opportunity to experience various teaching techniques.
My passion for bringing the best out of children and seeing them grow led me to pursue a degree in Human Development specializing in Early Childhood.
Our proprietary PA curriculum fully integrates music, dance, and theater into our age appropriate development standards through classes and Broadway style productions.
Keeping our children safe is our top priority and we take it very seriously. Our schools are sanitized daily and comprehensive safety protocols have been implemented.
Learning Through Life Experiences allows a child’s learning to become experimental, imaginative and sensory based. Our pedagogical approach is to learn through these real life experiences, such as emergency services, health and nutrition, etc.
Our children are continuously nurtured by exceptional teachers and caregivers along with age appropriate educational materials for kinesthetic, audial, visual, and touch learners.
Our children exceed the entry level academic expectations of elementary schools in the community so that they are well prepared for their transition into their next phase of learning.
Our classroom provides an ideal environment to foster individual development and self-help skills. We use a scaffolded approach to learning through systematically building on students’ experiences and knowledge as they are acquiring new skills in order to enhance learning and aid in the mastery of tasks. Their curious minds are exposed to an enriched curriculum focusing on language development by using pictures, books and basic academics in their environment. Following simple instructions is implemented through circle time, story time, art, and curriculum projects. Besides the social, emotional development, we also focus on developing fine motor skills through fun and sensory activities. Our Little Explorers are ready to put to practice their newfound independence by exploring their surroundings as they come with a Brighter understanding of their world around them.
Our kindergarten curriculum focuses on developing foundational skills that prepare students for later learning in the areas of math, science, social studies and language arts.
My daughter started at Building Kidz San Carlos a few months ago. The teachers and management have been nothing but wonderful. The teachers are loving and make preschool fun for the kids. The school uses the Brightwheel app to connect with parents and there are always photos and updates on what your child is doing. There is a planned curriculum that the school follows and fun learning activities for the kids. I highly recommend this school.
My son (3.5 yo) has been at Building Kidz since April'21. The administration and teachers are great. My son has spent time in two classes and teachers are loving, caring and fun. Communication with parents is frequent with regular updates, activity photos, etc., through the Brightwheel app that works well. Teachers have always welcomed our curiosities and provided prompt and thorough feedback. My son has definitely become more expressive and social, and has picked up some good habits after joining Building Kidz.
My twin boys reached the grand age of 2.5 years and it was clear that they needed more intellectual and social exposure than we could provide at home. However, given that our elderly parents are living with us, we had to ensure everyones safety in these trying times.
We looked at several daycares before deciding on Building Kidz in San Carlos. Here's what we love about it:
1) It's a brand new facility with only 10-12 students. That meant the kids had plenty of room to play in a safe, socially distanced manner. Even though there are a few more students now, the school has divided them into 2 classrooms. The student-teacher ratio is very much better than what we found in other schools.
2) The school is good about following drop off/pick up protocols, washing the kids hands regularly and maintaining overall cleanliness in the facility.
3) The teachers are AMAZING and I've seen quite a few with my daughter! They are great with the kids and my kids surprise me everyday by how much they've learnt. My 2.5 year old can recognize and make letters with shapes!
4) I love that the curriculum includes music and dance. Both my boys enjoy that and look forward to those lessons.
5) It took less than a week for my home schooled boys to get acclimated and look forward to going to school everyday!
We are very happy with this daycare and 100% recommend this to other families.
My 2 year old daughter has been at Building Kidz San Carlos for 3 months now. We have been really happy with the preschool. Our daughter has turned from being very shy to be a lot more outgoing. She only spoke mandarin prior to coming to building Kidz, now she can understand a lot of English and starts to speak some English too. And she seems to be very happy whenever we drop her off or pick her up. The teachers are wonderful, they are patient and caring. I highly recommend Building Kidz San Carlos!
