Owner and Franchisee
My name is Anisha Mistry, and I’m the owner of Building Kidz of Scotts Valley. My passion for working with children began when I first started my career as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I have had the opportunity to work with children in providing therapeutic behavioral services at a very early age that were dealing with various issues including but not limited to self-esteem and self-worth. Over the years I’ve learned how children can be affected in a positive or a negative way depending on the exposure that surrounds them.
Every child is special. Owning Building Kidz of Scotts Valley was a perfect segue for me to continue providing the love and compassion every child deserves. I truly believe that along with the core principles of Building Kidz, the incorporation of performing arts enhanced academic curriculum provides an arena for the “whole child” to succeed and develop character, commitment, and confidence.
I hold a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley. Recently, I graduated from Saint Mary’s College of California obtaining my M.A. in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in MFT and professional clinical counseling. With over 5 years of experience in the industry working with children on many different levels – I am excited to extend and apply my knowledge towards delivering a world class experience for our children in Scotts Valley.
My name is Marissa Cooney-Moore and I’m originally from Vermont. After earning a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Phonics, I have dedicated my life to being an educator. I am currently the Director of Building Kidz of Scotts Valley, where I lead and manage an exceptional team providing the best care for the children in our community.
I continue to leverage my years of experience, organizational abilities, and communication skills to ensure the highest level of safety for our children while maintaining visibility for parents.
I am thrilled to be a part of a team that creates exceptional environments for our children which enables them to showcase their unique beings. Our children showcase kindness and love for learning every day. The Building Kidz approach, incorporating performing arts to enhance age-appropriate and academic curricula, provides an arena for the “whole child” to succeed and develop character, commitment, and confidence.
In my free time, I enjoy camping, yoga, hiking, fly fishing, and playing tennis. I also like to experiment with new recipes, hanging out with friends, and meditating to begin each day fresh and prepared to take on any challenge.
I hope to have a chance to meet you and answer any questions you may have!
