Active Kids Learn More. Here’s the Science — And the Fun.

← Back to the blog

There’s a reason your child can’t sit still. They’re not supposed to.

At Building Kidz School of Leander, sports and movement aren’t a break from learning — they are learning. Our preschool and daycare programs are designed around one simple truth: when young children move, their brains light up.

We don’t run competitive tryouts or pressure kids to perform. What we do is give children the daily joy of running, jumping, kicking, and playing together — and through that, they discover how to be a teammate, a leader, and a good sport.

What do sports teach a preschooler that academics can’t?

• Gross motor development — balance, coordination, and spatial awareness
• Teamwork — sharing, cheering for others, handling wins and losses
• Focus — physical activity is one of the most effective tools for improving attention spans
• Emotional resilience — because every child misses the goal sometimes, and that’s a lesson worth learning early

How much physical activity should a preschooler get each day? The CDC recommends at least 3 hours — and our daily schedule is built to meet and exceed that, joyfully.

From morning movement circles to outdoor games and structured sports play, every day at Building Kidz keeps little bodies moving and little minds growing.

In a world that’s increasingly screen-heavy, we’re proudly old-school about one thing: kids need to play, run, and move. Every single day.

Active kids. Bright futures. Building Kidz School of Leander.
