Mercy Ishida is the Executive Director of multiple Building Kidz locations and the Franchise Owner of the Building Kidz School located in Daly City.
She holds an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Bachelors Degree in Business Management. She has had the privilege to work with children of different ages since 2007. Mercy has a genuine love for children and finds much joy knowing that her passion helps to mold and shape the children of tomorrow.
Our proprietary PA curriculum fully integrates music, dance, and theater into our age appropriate development standards through classes and Broadway style productions.
Keeping our children safe is our top priority and we take it very seriously. Our schools are sanitized daily and comprehensive safety protocols have been implemented.
Learning Through Life Experiences allows a child’s learning to become experimental, imaginative and sensory based. Our pedagogical approach is to learn through these real life experiences, such as emergency services, health and nutrition, etc.
Our children are continuously nurtured by exceptional teachers and caregivers along with age appropriate educational materials for kinesthetic, audial, visual, and touch learners.
Our children exceed the entry level academic expectations of elementary schools in the community so that they are well prepared for their transition into their next phase of learning.
In this class we brighten up the world by helping our youngest children discover their senses, explore their surroundings, nurture their development and celebrate their milestones. From one-on-one interactions that help build nurturing relationships in everyday moments to age-appropriate books to support speech and language development, our classrooms provide the ideal setting for the youngest children. We are also encouraging children to work on finger painting, music, and pretend play to spark creativity while also exposing them to structures to help with perceptual motor development. When children leave this classroom they will have a Brighter Beginning to the world around them.
Our classroom provides an ideal environment to foster individual development and self-help skills. We use a scaffolded approach to learning through systematically building on students’ experiences and knowledge as they are acquiring new skills in order to enhance learning and aid in the mastery of tasks. Their curious minds are exposed to an enriched curriculum focusing on language development by using pictures, books and basic academics in their environment. Following simple instructions is implemented through circle time, story time, art, and curriculum projects. Besides the social, emotional development, we also focus on developing fine motor skills through fun and sensory activities. Our Little Explorers are ready to put to practice their newfound independence by exploring their surroundings as they come with a Brighter understanding of their world around them.
This daycare/preschool is amazing. Our son has just graduated. He was a student there for the year of 2020-2021. Our experience was nothing short of amazing. The carrying and nurturing environment and teachers' attention were superb. We consider ourselves extremely fortunate because our son had the wonderful experience in this preschool.
The curriculum there is a well balanced combo of play/learn time. Kids are progressing well academically and developmentally. Great attention to the safety protocols. Teachers there are making sure that the conditions are as safe as possible during the pandemic. We recommend 'Building Kidz' wholeheartedly to all parents out there.

I love this school, first they took care of my nieces. I always knew I wanted my kids to go there someday as well. My son attended BK Imagination Station only for his last year of Pre-K and happy that he did. He went from being very shy to a talkative child and is now doing well in Kindergarten. I highly recommend this school, teachers are very caring and great teachers that give kids a good foundation before Kinder, also the best with quick feedback on your concerns & questions.
This preschool is absolutely amazing. My daughter adore each and every teacher she came into contact with at this school.
This preschool provided a solid foundation in academics, social skills, and teaching them the fundamental of dreaming big using there imagination skills. My daughter excelled in this school with the various daily activities. One of her favorite class in the morning is Science class. One of her favorite project was getting to grow a bean from a seed. She learned how to pot, plant, water, and watched it grow. With the diverse culture of where we live, I am very please that Building Kidz offer to teach basic Spanish at this level. I catch my daughter sometimes counting in Spanish or even saying just the simple words like thank you. There are so many other enriching activities that goes on everyday at this preschool that sometimes it feels like 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM isn't enough time. Dance Class, Music Class, Art Class, Performance Recitals....I wish I got to experience this when I was her age.
To see that my daughter enjoyed preschool this much makes my heart melt. It's the little things in life that counts the most. Knowing that Building Kidz made such a huge footprint in my daughter life make me proud as a mother for finding a preschool like this one. Entrusting your precious little ones is a huge step of letting go as a mother. It was the best decision I made to put my daughter at this preschool.

My two boys started going to Building Kidz in Daly City since 1 year old. My oldest son is graduating this year to kindergarten. Building Kidz has been a family to us. We are happy with the director and all the teachers. The teacher turn over ratio is low, most of the teachers we know for more than 3-4 years. Both kids love go to school, each morning they can't wait to get to school.
They have learned a lot with the preschool curriculum that building kids offers. The teachers also pay close attention to children development. My son's teacher suggested to have my son checked out for his speech since he was falling behind. We started speech therapy when he was 3. He has now successfully completed his therapy and he has been rated above 90th percentile for both math and verbal kindergarten entrance exams with a private school.
The school kept open even during spring 2020 COVID SIP periods when other schools and daycares were closed which was a big help to working parents. I can't say enough how much I appreciate the teachers and school for keeping our children safe and happy during the difficult times.
My daughter attended this preschool and is going go be attending kindergarten soon. I am amazed at how much this school has prepared her for the transition. Not only is the educational program excellent but they are a genuinely, wonderful and caring group of people. The School director is always positive, organized and has a great sense of responsibility. All the teachers are so loving and caring. They never fail to show great enthusiasm towards the children and they have made a positive impact on our daughter's life.
As a parent, there is nothing better than knowing your child is in good hands. This school ensures us that we never have to worry about our child's happiness and safety. She is always dropped off and picked up with a smile on her face.
We are so impressed with the curriculum, from science, math, spanish, art, dancing, music and theatre. This is exactly what my daughter needed and I know it will help her to be successful in kindergarten. We love what this school has done for our daughter and we wish that we could have kept her in this school forever.
